de Young Museum + Legion of Honor

The de Young Museum and the Legion of Honor offer distinctly different yet deeply complementary experiences. Together as the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, these two locations offer more than remarkable collections — they provide a richly layered portrait of the city itself, where art, architecture, and scenery converge in moments of reflection and discovery.

In Golden Gate Park, the copper façade of the de Young Museum captures the flicker of the sun’s rays filtered through the distinctive palm trees in front. The Museum’s collection includes works commissioned during the 2005 construction of the boldly contemporary building: “Drawn Stone,” a work by English sculptor Andy Goldsworthy inspired by California’s topography, and “Three Gems,” an experiential space created by James Turrell, an American artist known for his visionary work with light. The sweeping 360-degree views from the glass walled summit of the Hamon Observation Tower stretch from downtown rooftops to the Pacific horizon, offering perspective on both the city and the landscapes that shape it.

Hushed galleries and coastal vistas create a serene atmosphere at the Legion of Honor. Inside the neoclassical building set high above the Pacific in Lincoln Park, a world-class collection of European painting, sculpture and decorative arts spans centuries, with ocean fog and cypress trees framing the art beyond the windows. Works include more than 90 sculptures by Rodin and paintings by Impressionist masters such as Monet, Renoir and Degas.

San Francisco C3
Simple and efficient
Easy to buy, easy to use, and cheaper than buying tickets individually. It was very worth it.
Awesome way to spend a 3-day vacation!
We bought a CityPASS and it made visiting the city with a 12-year-old a very memorable time. We all enjoyed our time. Can’t wait to do it again. The price was so affordable that it added to our enjoyable experience.
Absolutely recommended
I bought CityPass for my trip and it was very useful. It help me to save money, as well as time. Moreover, it is very easy to use since you don't even have to print them out. Just present your mobile tickets to get scanned for entry and you're in!
Incredibly awesome
I bought the city pass for my family for our spring break trip and it was totally worth the money. Great deal!
Convenience, cost effective and fun
We used the CityPASS in San Francisco and it made visiting the attractions so easy and fun. We had no trouble walking in and showing the ticket offices our passes on our cell phone. The boat cruise was fabulous and we enjoyed the de Young and SFMOMA. No waiting in line and no limitations on the exhibits. A great value!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great service I purchased CityPASS for a trip to San Francisco. My granddaughter and I ran into timing issues and were unable to use the reservation we had made for one of the attractions. The customer service was excellent and my granddaughter was thrilled that we were able to enjoy the Exploratorium after all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Experience CityPASS is worth to buy for the travellers, which can save a lot money comparing to buy tickets for each single attraction, however, it would be better if more attractions are included into the CityPASS for travellers to select

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great trip, but wish Alcatraz had been an option I went to San Francisco in September 2024 to try the Giants stadium, and chose the California Academy of Sciences, SFMOMA, the Blue & Gold Fleet Cruise, and the Disney Museum as my four options for the four item pass. I really enjoyed all four of them. That said, I wish Alcatraz had been an option back then. I'm glad it is now. We passed it on the cruise, but I would have enjoyed exploring the island. I also wish DeYoung was an option for the four destination pass. I particularly liked the sea lions at Pier 39 at the Blue and Gold Fleet Cruise and passing Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge, the polka dot room at the SFMOMA, and the rainforest and endangered species paintings at the CAS. Overall, I loved SF, can't wait to be back, and would get a CityPASS again.
