Advice for Visitors

Tips

Best Time to Visit

Arrive before 11:30am when it's less crowded.

Don't forget to visit the Backstage Celebrity Gallery, with hyper-realistic silicone figures from a selection of films and events that have taken place at the castle, or the antique car collection in the Carriage Room.

Enjoy Casa Loma gardens from May to October.

To get the full experience, allow about two hours for your visit. If you're short on time, don't miss Dressing the Abbey between June 25 – August 30. The exhibit features costumes from the show that will be sporadically placed around the castle.

Toronto CityPASS
Great Toronto attractions
Something for everyone: arts, sciences, history, entertainment, and for every age group. You can be confident in seeing something unique, worthwhile, and proper to the city itself.
Must have
CityPASS is just something you need when you come for the first time to the city. Admissions are must see, and if you save money even better.
Fabulous!
I found a CityPASS for Toronto and bought it. After that the whole trip fell into our laps! There is so much to do in Toronto that we were in over our heads before this! The CityPASS has so much to offer for every kind of person!
Great deal! A must try for all
Great price for amazing attractions. Have used it every time friends and family visit from outside the country. Love it!
Worth it for those travelling on a budget
I don't usually buy passes like this because usually you're paying for things you don't really want to do. And as a backpacker every dollar counts! However, I had planned on visiting the Toronto Zoo, the CN Tower and The Royal Ontario Museum and those three alone would have been worth more than the cost of the CityPASS.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Okay value, okay experiences. I bought the CityPASS to get in to the CN Tower; Ripley's Aquarium; Royal Ontario Museum; Museum of Ontario; and a one-hour harbor cruise. Overall it was rather meh. The tickets worked. The reservation for the CN Tower was honored, but with about a 45 minute wait in line after our 'reserved' time. Our first visit to the Aquarium during the day discovered a line wait of over an hour to enter - we came back much later in the day. We found the Royal Ontario Museum interesting but not nearly as great as advertised, and the Impressionist exhibit on display from Dallas was small and crowded. The older cultures (Egypt, Rome, etc.) were cluttered and laid out in a seemingly haphazard fashion, making navigating our desired topics quite difficult. The boat cruise was nice for the opportunity to get out on the water during a hot summer day, but the guide was rather lazy and pretty shallow with Toronto history. Overall, the CityPASS value was very modest in terms of savings, and in light of the museum experiences I'd say it was less so, though I understand that the museum quality isn't in the control of the CityPASS folks.
