How To Experience Seattle at Night

November 10, 2022 By CityPASS

Seattle is a beautiful city surrounded by forests and glistening water. Still, it is an even more spectacular sight at night. If you are taking off to the largest city in Washington State, there are plenty of fun things to get into during the day, but the fun nightlife you can find in Seattle makes the city special. You can enjoy bars, craft breweries, and tons of nighttime outdoor activities.

We've got you covered if you're looking for fun things to do in Seattle at night. Check out some of these top activities.

Enjoy a Walk Along Seattle's Historic Waterfront

The lights of Seattle at night are breathtaking. You can walk along the waterfront and enjoy the scenery, whale watch, go shopping, or just soak in the city. In addition, you can ride on the iconic landmark on Pier 57 — Seattle Great Wheel. Seattle's Ferris wheel on the water is one of the largest in America. It's open late so you can check out the beautiful city lights from the vantage point of the wheel.

Try a Delicious Cocktail at a Local Dive Bar or Fancy Lounge

Seattle has no shortage of fun dive bars and fancy lounges to grab a drink. If you want to hit up a spot that many famous bands have played at, the The Crocodile is a good choice. With live music often, you can stop by for some live entertainment and grab a few drinks.

Oliver's is an upmarket lounge with local craft cocktails if you want to grab a bite and a local craft beer. Since 1976, this lounge has been known for having some of the best martinis in Seattle. You can also grab some light appetizers and crab cakes. The lounge can be found at the Mayflower Park Hotel.

Pay a Visit to the Space Needle for Evening Skyline Views

One of the most popular places to visit in the city, the Space Needle is an authentic symbol of Seattle. The Space Needle has stunning views of the Seattle skyline at night. Of course, the view is impressive during the day as well. Still, seeing the city sparking from the high observation deck at night is mystifying. The deck is 520 feet above the city and gives you 360-degree panoramic views.

Go on a Nighttime Cruise

Something fun to do in downtown Seattle at night is to go on a nighttime cruise. The tours around Lake Union and beautiful Elliot Bay offer unbeatable views of the skyline at night. You can get a different perspective on everything at night! The cruises include a narrated tour, so you learn history while you check out the scenery.

Many cruises offer a full-service bar with some local beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic choices available.

Watch a Comedy Act

Seattle is home to many different comedy clubs. For example, Laughs Comedy Club and Club Comedy Seattle are both open Wednesday through Sunday and offer one or two shows a night. You can sometimes catch national headliners, but you’ll always have a good laugh no matter who you see.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly place to laugh out loud, you can check out CSz Seattle. The club specializes in improv comedy, so you never really know how the evening will turn out. The 10pm shows are for adults only, and the club has a small snack bar with beer, wine, and sodas.

Head Over to Pike Place Market After Dark

Pike Place Market offers a whole different experience after 5pm. Many of the bars and restaurants offer a happy hour. There are also various places to get a nice dinner, or you could hop around from place to place to enjoy a little bit of everything. If you’re up for dinner and a show, Can Can Culinary Cabaret offers original shows, and you can eat while you watch.

Check Out Seattle's Sky View Observatory

Seattle's Sky View Observatory is one of the most incredible places to visit in Seattle at night and is the tallest observatory in the Pacific Northwest. You can go up 73 stories, where you'll quickly find one of the greatest views of Seattle at night. They have a café and a bar where you can order cocktails or grab a small bite while you overlook the city.
