The Intrepid Museum is an educational institution featuring the legendary aircraft carrier Intrepid, the space shuttle Enterprise, the world’s fastest jets, and a guided missile submarine. Through exhibitions, educational programming, and a collection of technologically groundbreaking aircraft and vessels, visitors of all ages and abilities are taken on a journey through history to learn about American innovation and bravery.
The Exploreum is a fully interactive exhibit space in the Museum's hangar deck, designed especially for families and kids of all ages.

Climb in an actual Bell 47 helicopter, navigate through an interactive submarine and steer the wings of an airplane in The Exploreum.

Go inside the American guided missile submarine Growler which offers museum visitors a firsthand look at life aboard a submarine and a close-up inspection of the once "top-secret" missile command center.
Intrepid also served as a NASA recovery vessel in the 1960s.

Tips
Best Time to Visit
Arrive in the morning to give yourself enough time to explore the whole museum.
Be sure to talk to the volunteers — many served aboard Intrepid or on other Navy ships.
To get the full experience, allow about three to four hours for your visit. If you're short on time, don't miss the Growler.

Accessibility
Because of the Intrepid’s status as a National Historic Landmark, most of the Museum is fully accessible by wheelchair. Areas that are not accessible by wheelchair include the fo’c’sle, combat information center, submarine Growler and Concorde. All restrooms and dining areas are fully accessible, as well as the flight deck, hangar deck and mess deck. The Museum does not have wheelchairs available for public use. Museum Highlights Tour
Explore the historical spaces and learn about the technical marvels during a one-hour guided tour recommended for ages 10 and up, available daily at 11am, noon, and 1pm. Purchase tickets onsite for $18.

Flight Simulators
Experience all Intrepid has to offer in the virtual flight zone. Available Flight Simulators include: Transporter FX: G-Force Encounter: Climb into the cockpit and fly your very own aircraft with 360 degrees of movement. Two people required per ride. Riders must be at least 48" tall. Cost: $15 per ride (prices are per person). XD Theater: Experience 4D simulation, high-definition sound and unmatched speed. Riders must be at least 40" tall. Cost: $12 per ride (prices are per person).
Souvenir Photos
Photogenic Imaging provides souvenir photography and products to Museum guests. Using chroma key technology, guests have the opportunity to pose in front of a blue screen located near the entrance of the submarine Growler and in the Space Shuttle Pavilion. Upon exiting the exhibits, guests will be able to see their finished images in sea, air and space themed settings.
Concorde Tour
Discover British Airway’s Concorde Alpha Delta G-BOAD at the Intrepid Museum! One of only 14 Concordes ever in service, G-BOAD holds the record for the fastest Atlantic crossing in only 2 hours, 52 minutes, and 59 seconds. Step on board and learn more about the technological innovations that made it a part of history. The 20-minute experience is offered every 30 minutes beginning at 11am. Purchase tickets at box office upon arrival. Availability is limited, and this experience does sell out. Cost: Ages 5+, $15
