Empire State Building Observatory

The iconic Empire State Building offers panoramic views of the New York skyline day and night. Rising 1,050 feet above Manhattan, enjoy views from the 86th Floor Observatory while you are treated to an audio tour explaining the sights and sounds of the city. Day or night, there’s always a breathtaking view of New York from the glass enclosed observatory or the open air deck.

EMPIRE STATE BUILDING OBSERVATORY ADMISSION USING CITYPASS INCLUDES:

  • One Empire State Building Observatory general admission to the 86th Floor Observatory
  • One audio tour
  • The 102nd Floor Observatory costs an additional $15 per person.

HOW TO ENTER WITH YOUR CITYPASS TICKET:

  • First, enter the main security checkpoint line.
  • Once through security, present booklet at the 2nd floor access points to skip the main ticket line.
  • Exchange your e-ticket for a CityPass booklet at the main ticket windows.
  • Present CityPass again at the audio tour kiosk on the 80th floor for a free audio tour.

GATE PRICE (WITHOUT CITYPASS):

INSIDER TIPS:

  • The Observatory is open until 2 a.m. every night. By night, the sparkling array of stars and lights look like a galaxy of diamonds on black velvet.
  • Avoid long lines at security and the elevators by just telling any employee that you want to upgrade to Express Pass for an additional $25. You will then be moved to the front of each line.

HOURS:

  • Open daily, 365 days a year, 8 a.m. to 2 a.m.
  • Last elevator leaves 45 minutes before close
