American Museum of Natural History
An Experience to Remember
There’s so much to explore at one of the world's top museums: iconic fossils like T. rex, world-renowned dioramas, a life-size blue whale model, the Hayden Planetarium, and the new Gilder Center. Discover the Gilder Center's bold design, informed by nature, and new exhibits, including a Butterfly Vivarium featuring over 80 species of free-flying butterflies, and an Insectarium with live insects.
Highlights
01.
Reach billions of years into the past and peer millions of years into the future with Encounters in the Milky Way, a Hayden Planetarium Space Show narrated by Pedro Pascal. This time-traveling journey explores the cosmic movements that shape our galactic neighborhood.
02.
Discover the Museum's Solomon Family Insectarium, live butterflies, floor-to-ceiling displays of the Museum's scientific collections across three levels, and more in the new Gilder Center.
03.
Explore the Museum’s famous fossil halls, featuring the largest collection of dinosaur fossils in the world, including imposing mounts of Tyrannosaurus rex and Apatosaurus, as well as the 122-foot-long cast of a titanosaur, a recently discovered giant herbivore that lived in the forests of today’s Patagonia about 100 to 95 million years ago.
