See Your Favorite Furry and Finned Creatures with these Live Cams and Virtual Tours

Some of our favorite zoos and aquariums across North America may be closed, but the animals are still there. From soothing live feeds of jellyfish to penguin field trips to behind-the-scenes footage from keepers and animal caregivers, there’s still plenty to see. You can follow your favorite zoos and aquariums on social media channels to see updated content daily with animal enrichment activities. We’ve rounded up some highlights worth checking out.

Georgia Aquarium (Atlanta)

See whale sharks, sea otters, puffins and more on the live webcams. Kids can submit their best artwork of their favorite aquarium creature to be featured in an online art gallery.


Zoo Atlanta (Atlanta)

They mostly eat and lounge around (maybe you can relate!), but the world-famous panda cam brings joy!


New England Aquarium (Boston)

View live presentations, new videos, and activities to try from home. Daily presentations are posted on Facebook every day. Tune into the Live Series Fridays at 11am EST, when New England Aquarium Explorer-In Residence and National Geographic photographer Brian Skerry will present a series of Facebook Live "mini-lectures" with Q&A following. The virtual visit page is a source for at-home activities to keep you entertained.

Franklin Park Zoo (Boston)

Franklin Park Zoo is bringing the zoo to you on their Facebook page, with lots of live video and fun posts sharing animal enrichment, conservation efforts, endangered animals, and behind-the-scenes glimpse into the animals themselves.

Shedd Aquarium (Chicago)

Follow the Shedd penguins on their adventures as they take field trips to visit other animals and parts of the aquarium while it’s closed.


Dallas Zoo (Dallas)

Follow Dallas Zoo on social media and the hashtag #BringTheZooToYou for video tutorials on topics like building your own honeycomb, along with adorable animal content.

Denver Zoo (Denver)

The animal care staff is still providing vital care for nearly 3,000 animal residents, and along the way, they’re keeping you informed, entertained and engaged with daily videos, wildlife-themed activity ideas and much more! Catch a daily Zoo to You Live Stream.

Houston Zoo (Houston)

Each weekday, the zoo is hosting an 11am CST Facebook Live to bring the Zoo to You! They will be sharing daily updates of what their furred, flippered, and feathered friends are up to and how the zookeepers are caring for them while the zoo is closed.


Downtown Aquarium (Houston)

Stay connected to some animal favorites by catching Facebook live streams. You'll meet the aquarium's sloth family and learn cool animal facts. Ask questions in the comment section and get live answers.

Adventure Aquarium (Philadelphia)

Catch shark feedings, story time with penguins, animal Q&A’s and more in a weekly video series.


Philadelphia Zoo (Philadelphia)

Tune into the Philly Zoo at 2 Facebook Live series to meet the amazing animals and dedicated staff. The series airs at 2pm EST each day.

Aquarium of the Bay (San Francisco)

The animal care staff is on-site daily with animal enrichment and behind-the-scenes content that can be found on social media channels as part of #BringTheZooToYou and #MyNewNormal. The Aquarium will be live on Facebook and Instagram every Monday and Friday.

San Francisco Zoo (San Francisco)

The Zoo is sharing Animal Adventure videos on their social media channels. Follow along with the hashtags #BringTheSFZooToYou and #BringTheZootoYou

Seattle Aquarium (Seattle)

Experience the aquarium from anywhere. Take virtual field trips, stream live webcams, answer trivia and get social. Did we mention there are sea otters?


Woodland Park Zoo (Seattle)

While the zoo is closed, they're bringing their animals to you on their social channels, with weekly Facebook live broadcasts by animal keepers, plus lots behind-the-scenes glimpses into the friendly, furry and sometimes fierce zoo residents.

Busch Gardens (Tampa Bay)

Tune into the Facebook Live video series to see giraffes on the Serengeti Plain, cheetah cubs exploring the zoo, flamingos out for a walk and more.

Florida Aquarium (Tampa Bay)

SEA-SPAN is live Monday through Friday at 10am EST on Facebook. The series was recently named one of the best livestream learning opportunities by the Smithsonian.
