How do you use CityPASS?

This thing is brilliant! Oh how I wish there's a city pass to all major city in the world! We visited all 5 in 3 days, in a rather chill way, no rush, little traffic (car drive), through the beautiful landscape of Chicago. Shedd is beautiful! All the animals are awesome. I like the Amazon & the Jellies in particular. Next up is Field Museum. Both Shedd & Field are close to each other, walking distance. We like the Genghis Khan showing, and the Dinasours should not be missed too !! 2nd day we went to Museum of Science. Being the geek we are (me & sis), we just love this place. It's like the perfect theme park for all geeks out there. The Mythbusters showing is incredible as well, they let you test a few myths they did on the show. For Example, card throwing, hanging on a ledge, table cloth pulling, etc. Be sure to come early to enjoy the full experience (shows ad stuffs). There was a few groups of school kids in the museum, making it a bit crowdy. We continue the day with Skydeck ( Willis tower). What can I say, standing on a ledge 103 floors above the ground just isn't what we all do everyday. For that reason, we took lots and lots of pictures. It's a unique experience for us ( I love it, mum hate it). Oh, and come to Willis tower after working hours, easier to find parking that way. 3rd day we went to the art institute. Honestly, it wasn't our cup of tea. the old stuffs are interesting, but it's just not who we are. I would visit the Planetarium if I was given another chance. That said, our whole Chicago experience is awesome. Like one of the review I read before, this City Pass is totally worth it, even if you only get to use 4 out of the 5 available. Not just the 5 places, the landscape of Chicago is very beautiful! all the buildings and the trees easily put Chicago above New York on my top 5 favorite city !

This is a great deal for several reasons: (a) a big discount at the most important attractions in Chicago, (b) an incentive to visit everything, (c) you can skip to head of the line almost everywhere, (d) many discounts (e.g. Bloomingdale's) and small gifts. Plus the chance to win $250. A great bargain.

We had planned to visit the 5 attractions in a span of 3 days (Friday - Sunday). However, when we arrived at the first attraction (the Chicago Skydeck / Willis Tower) on Friday, we were informed (by the elevator attendant not even the official at the ticket counter) that the museums (included in the City Pass) would be closed from Saturday to Monday on account of the NATO summit and other events. We were shocked and squeezed in the other 4 attractions in 4 hours. There should have been better intimation on the City Pass Website regarding the closure of the museums during the weekend. Even though, we sped through the museums, we did like the Adler Planetarium, Shedd Aquarium and both of the Towers (Willis and John Hancock).

What a great idea. We spent 3.5 days in chicago. We used all of the tickets in the packet. We felt like VIPs when we passed all the people that were standing in line waiting to buy tickets. By buying the citypass, we saved money. We got to use our savings for some really fabulous meals in the Chicago area. Thanks for having the pass available for purchase!
How to Buy
Buy now and, at checkout, choose to either have CityPASS booklets shipped to you or print vouchers. For payment, we accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover or PayPal.
Print voucher
Print your voucher at time of purchase or later by accessing the .pdf attached to your e-mailed order receipt. All vouchers must be printed. An on-screen view of your voucher, using your mobile device, will NOT be accepted at the attractions. Once printed, you take the pre-paid voucher to the first attraction you plan to visit and exchange it for a CityPASS booklet, which contains entrance tickets to all the attractions. When does the 9-day booklet validity period begin?
If you purchase today, you may begin using your booklet any day from now until February 28, 2014. Exchange vouchers for your CityPASS booklet within 6 months from date-of-purchase.
Chicago CityPASS tickets are valid for one-time use within nine consecutive calendar days. The first attraction you visit stamps or scans your booklet to activate the booklet's nine-day validity period. For example, if you visit the Adler Planetarium on Monday, you have the rest of that day, plus the following eight days to use the other four tickets in your booklet.

Are there ever any blackout dates for using CityPASS?
No, there are no black-out dates associated with using CityPASS. You're welcome use your CityPASS anytime within regular attraction operating hours. Please note that some attractions may periodically close all or a portion of their attraction for private events or due to weather conditions. We recommend contacting the attractions directly to verify availability during your travel dates.

What is an option ticket?
Chicago CityPASS includes two option tickets. One gives you the choice to visit either Adler Planetarium OR Art Institute of Chicago. The other gives you the choice to visit either John Hancock Observatory OR Museum of Science and Industry. No need to decide between them now – choose when you get there.

What do I do if my child is younger than the CityPASS child ticket price range?
Chicago child booklets are priced for ages 3-11. Children under age 3 may be eligible for free or discounted admission at some attractions, however, you are often required to stand in line with them to secure a free child’s ticket. You may save money, but you will spend time in ticket lines.
See Price Details to decide whether CityPASS is a good choice for your child. Your family’s vacation experience may be improved by zipping past main ticket lines to the CityPASS entrance — even if it costs you a few extra dollars.

What is a voucher and how do I use it?
A voucher is a one-page document that you print at the time of purchase or later by accessing the .pdf attached to your e-mailed order receipt. All vouchers must be printed; attractions will not accept an on-screen view of your voucher, using your mobile device. (At check out, you also have the option to have actual booklets shipped to you by UPS.)
Once printed, you take the pre-paid voucher to the first attraction you plan to visit and exchange it for a CityPASS booklet which contains entrance tickets to all the attractions. Do I skip every line with Chicago CityPASS?
Chicago attractions offer Express VIP entry for CityPASS holders. The Skip the Lines tab tells you how to enter each attraction with a CityPASS booklet in hand and with a voucher to — if possible — avoid the main ticket line. In the summer, weekends, and on holidays, even the CityPASS holders line may fill up, but you'll move much more quickly than guests waiting in regular ticket lines. You'll have to pass security at both Skydeck Chicago and the John Hancock Observatory security points. In our experience, these lines also move briskly when you use CityPASS.

Do I need to make reservations for Omnimax shows at the Museum of Science and Industry?

What are Chicago Discount Days or Museum Free Days?
Chicago museums are publicly funded, and required to provide general admission to Illinois residents a specified number of days each year. On those days, many Illinois state residents and groups visit cultural institutions making for crowds and long lines.
