Great fun!

posted by Guillaume on May-21-2012

The CityPASS is a must for anyone who wants to visit the big attractions in Toronto. The 5 attractions are fairly far from each other, but in a city like Toronto, you have to expect that! Casa Loma and the CN tower are the 2 best in the lot. ROM is impressive and can take a long time to visit!

This is a MUST for sightseeing

posted by jopainter on May-21-2012

CityPass is totally awesome! You can skip the ticket lines and only pay once for stuff, which is when you buy the booklet. Do NOT take public transportation to the zoo or the Science Center-it will take over 2 hours each way. It's better to drive and pay the $10 parking fee. You will pay for parking anywhere you go in Toronto, so just deal with that fact. I enjoyed Casa Loma the most-it's beautiful and alot of movies have been partially filmed there. The zoo is gigantic, so plan to be there all day. The Royal Museum is another place you will be all day & we thoroughly enjoyed it. The CN Tower is pretty cool and the Science Museum is pretty good, but better if you have kids, as it's very educational. Take ALOT of money with you, as Toronto is a very expensive city. Buy the weekly transportation card-it's $37.50 for a week of unlimited public transportation-bus, streetcar and subway and we used ours like crazy. It's a relief to know that if you get off at the wrong stop, or want to explore, it won't cost another $3.

50/50

posted by Penelope_911 on May-20-2012

I am new to Toronto and thought the CityPass was the best way to see several popular venues for a discounted price. I purchased one each for myself and my fiance. We started our day by visiting ROM and to my dismay it wasn't as good as I had hoped. Many of the displays are repetitive and many lights were burnt out in the Asia area. We ate in the cafeteria which was extremely over-priced and not exceptional. The service was also nothing to be proud of. This part of the CityPass was very boring. We then went to Casa Loma, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The spiral stairs on the second floor should have an attendant to tell visitors when to go up and come down as people wouldn't wait for others so we had to stand there as several groups of people went through before us. Be aware that if you drive here, you will be charged $6 for an hour and a half (more if you are longer) We didn't stay exceptionally long, we just went through the castle and took a quick walk in the gardens. It is not detailed that you have to pay for parking on your ticket. Next up, the CN Tower...this was an amazing site ONCE you get to experience it. We stood in line for well over an hour and a half before getting on the elevator. The glass floor is great if you can be the first one on it as it was pretty dirty once we arrived. Make sure you understand where everything is as we took the elevator all the way back down before realizing it wasn't taking us to the restaurant. We will be taking our kids to the zoo next weekend and I will be seeing the Science Centre on Tuesday...More comments to come!

Great Value!

posted by Alice on May-17-2012

My cousins from Holland bought me a pass before they came to visit. We went all 5 venues, and it was a great deal! Fabulous way to entertain out-of-town visitors, and see my own city at the same time. I will certainly buy a CityPass when I travel to a participating city.

Great deal, bad distances

posted by xfrozen on May-17-2012

This CityPASS was a great buy! The whole family enjoyed going everywhere, and the passes made it exceptionally easy to get in to places. Our only complaint was that Toronto is a VERY big city and the places that we had passes for were in all directions. That was a problem because it was very stressful to find our way around, as it was our first time in Toronto.

FAQs

Find answers to questions most frequently asked about Toronto CityPASS below. Click on the questions to show or hide answers.

  1. How do I know if Toronto CityPASS is a good deal for me?

You'd get your money's worth even if you only visited three attractions. We invite you to see for yourself. Price Details displays CityPASS prices right next to full attraction admission prices and the extras you get with CityPASS. You can tell at a glance if the price and value are right for you — even if you don't visit every attraction.

  2. When does the 9 day validity period begin?

If you purchase today, you may begin using your booklet any day from now until February 28, 2014. Exchange vouchers for your CityPASS booklet within 6 months from date-of-purchase.

Toronto CityPASS tickets are valid for one-time use within nine consecutive calendar days. The first attraction you visit stamps or scans your booklet to activate the booklet's nine-day validity period. For example, if you visit the CN Tower on Monday, you have the rest of that day, plus the following eight days to use the other four tickets in your booklet.

  3. Are there ever any blackout dates for using CityPASS?

No, there are no black-out dates associated with using CityPASS. You're welcome use your CityPASS anytime within regular attraction operating hours. Please note that some attractions may periodically close all or a portion of their attraction for private events or due to weather conditions. We recommend contacting the attractions directly to verify availability during your travel dates.

  4. What do I do if my child is younger than the CityPASS child ticket price range?

Toronto child booklets are priced for ages 4-12. Children under age 4 may be eligible for free or discounted admission at some attractions, however, you are often required to stand in line with them to secure a free child’s ticket. You may save money, but you will spend time in ticket lines.

See Price Details to decide whether CityPASS is a good choice for your child. Your family’s vacation experience may be improved by zipping past main ticket lines to the CityPASS entrance — even if it costs you a few extra dollars.

  5. What is a voucher and how do I use it?

A voucher is a one-page document that you print at the time of purchase or later by accessing the .pdf attached to your e-mailed order receipt. All vouchers must be printed; attractions will not accept an on-screen view of your voucher, using your mobile device. (At check out, you also have the option to have actual booklets shipped to you by UPS.)

Once printed, you take the pre-paid voucher to the first attraction you plan to visit and exchange it for a CityPASS booklet which contains entrance tickets to all the attractions. Exchange locations at each attraction are printed on the voucher. Keep in mind that you may encounter a ticket line when exchanging your voucher.

  6. Do I skip every line with Toronto CityPASS?

The Skip the Lines tab tells you how to enter each attraction with a CityPASS booklet in hand and with a voucher to — if possible — avoid the main ticket line. We've also printed brief instructions on each ticket in your booklet to remind you where to go. Also, each attraction displays signs indicating where CityPASS ticket holders go to present their ticket booklets to avoid most entrance ticket lines. Keep in mind that these are the most-popular attractions in Toronto and there may be lines in summer, on weekends and holidays.

  7. How do I know when attractions open/close and where I should start?

Planning is easier when you see all the attractions' locations and hours in one place. Click on Attraction Details to find the Location & Hours tab and more attraction information tabs designed to help you plan your trip.

  8. How do I buy a CityPASS if I live outside the U.S., Canada or U.K.?

International buyers will find the print-at-home voucher purchase their most efficient solution. If you prefer to wait until arrival, you will find booklets available for the same low price at every participating CityPASS attraction.

  9. Is it safe to buy a CityPASS from private sellers on Ebay, Craig's List or other similar entities?

CityPASS does not endorse or support the purchase of CityPASS products from eBay, Craig’s List or directly from any individual. In the event that you purchase stolen or invalid CityPASS products, CityPASS will be unable to offer any compensation
