Coke: the Official Soft Drink of Summer
The World of Coca-Cola® is the coolest summer spot in downtown Atlanta. The global headquarters of the planet’s most famous brand is the place to sip on a hot August day. The brand new, gleaming building is full of the art, advertising, and refreshing beverages that we’ve associated with happy, social occasions for more than a hundred years!
Coke’s ad slogans – and jingle music – remind us of our love affair with the brand: The Cold, Crisp Taste of Coke; It’s the Real Thing and I’d like to give the world a Coke, among others. Step back in time, and see how Coca-Cola influenced history, pop culture, and our taste buds. You’ll get to see the real thing produced on a bottling line. Best of all, you get to drink the fizzy fun!
Introduced in 1886, Coca-Cola was so popular by 1899 that it was already sold in every state and U.S. territory. Now, Coca-Cola means 450 brands in more than 200 countries. The curvy signature bottle shares shelf space with portion control cans, caffeine-free Coke, Diet Coke with vitamins and minerals, zero-calorie Coke, and a host of waters, mixes, and other Coca-Cola beverages.
After visiting World of Coca-Cola, wander outdoors to the Centennial Olympic Park and the Fountain of Rings. Created for the Olympic Games, the fountain has 251 jets that shoot water 12-to-35 feet in the air. The splash pad is designed for kids to frolic, and adults to relish the mists. There’s always something going on in the park. On Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon, there’s live music. A summer concert series, Wednesday Winddown, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., is a great way to relax.
