Kodak THEATRE
Guided Tour
CityPASS saves you 46% on admission to Hollywood’s top 4 attractions.
Kodak THEATRE CityPASS ticket includes a 30-minute guided tour.
Kodak THEATRE
Built at a cost of $94 million, Kodak THEATRE was designed to be as glamorous as its onstage artists and celebrity guests, yet capable of serving the enormous technical needs of a live worldwide television broadcast on Oscar night.
The naming of Kodak THEATRE, honors Kodak’s prominence and long-standing connection to the film industry in Hollywood. In fact, for the 78th consecutive year, ever since the inception of the Academy Awards, Best Picture was produced on Kodak film.
The Academy Awards
Designed with the Academy Awards broadcast in mind, Kodak THEATRE has hosted the annual ceremony since 2001.
Kodak Theatre is proud to be home to the highest honor in filmmaking through the year 2021.
Theatre Lobby
The five-level theatre lobby is centered by a grand spiral staircase with cherrywood balustrades, topped by an oval, uplit silvery dome.
Certain lobby design elements were inspired by Michelangelo’s Campodiglio in Rome and Busby Berkeley’s choreography.
Oscar Winners
Twenty-six spectacular images of famous Oscar® winners including Grace Kelly, Jack Nicholson, Marlon Brando, Halle Berry and Julia Roberts are permanently displayed on four lobby levels as photographic transparencies on clear plexiglass hung in front of shimmering beaded “silver screen” panels.
Inside the Theatre
Kodak THEATRE has hosted a range of prestigious artists and events including Alicia Keys, Celine Dion, Prince, Elvis Costello, Stevie Wonder, Harry Connick, Jr., Melissa Etheridge, Dixie Chicks, American Ballet Theatre and various touring Broadway productions.
Notable television and awards events at Kodak THEATRE have included the American Idol finals, AFI Lifetime Achievement Awards to Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, and George Luca, Daytime Emmy Awards, ESPY Awards and BET Awards.
Audience Chamber Tiara
The audience chamber is highlighted by a silver-leafed “tiara” — a looping oval structure that both supports and disguises an immense ceiling grid for lighting. Reflective ribs from the tiara extend down between the theatre’s box seats, creating a continuous flow from wall to ceiling.
The chamber was designed to draw attention. Two shades of iridescent fabric curtains add a shimmering glow. The main stage is one of the largest in the nation, at 120-feet-wide and 75-feet-deep.
Hollywood & Highland Center
Kodak Theatre is located within the Hollywood & Highland Center, which consists of over 640,000 square feet of space featuring national, regional and local retail tenants, a variety of restaurants, several of Hollywood’s hottest nightclubs, and a six-screen state-of-the-art cinema. Next door is world-famous Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, and the 640-room Hollywood Renaissance Hotel & Spa.

One ticket to access the city of Hollywood
posted by andrewlaw71 on Jan-10-2012
The package that CityPass offered is worth of its price. If you love history or want to know more about the stories about Hollywood, this is specially for you. Both tours can give you a brief overview on the city of Hollywood and its tourist attractions. Kodak Theatre guided tour gives you an exclusive feeling of being celebrity or producers to access the place on Oscar Academy Award Day.
great value, great experience

My wife and I are so pleased with our city passes. It was a great idea to get them, it saved us lots of money for the visits that we may not even have done in the first place, if it weren't for them. The selection of attraction is great, we really enjoyed the walking tour with red-line. Great guide, great stories. We will choose city passes for every city we go to from no on ! It's great.
Really worth it
posted by lizeem on Jan-06-2012
We did all four activities included in the citypass and they were all interesting, espescially the walking tour wich was very fun and instructive. I recommend to do all the activities early in the morning because it is less crowded and you are sure to make the visits at the time you want.
DON'T GO HERE

This city was a sore sight for eyes, its mix of modern and past styles of architecture was abysmal. I strongly recommend that you do not visit this city
We loved it!
posted by Jim on Nov-14-2011
We loved it because: Hollywood CityPASS was a fantastic value; we did not have to wait in lines; and we had a great time touring the Kodak Theater (we were the only two people on the tour so it was like a private tour!), visiting Madame Toussauds Wax Museum, and went on the Starline coach tour and saw dozens of extraordinary Hollywood homes.

Hollywood child booklets are priced for ages 3-11. Children under age 3 may be eligible for free or discounted admission at some attractions, however, you are often required to stand in line with them to secure a free child’s ticket. You may save money, but you will spend time in ticket lines.
