San Diego Family Fun

My wife an I have been married for 5 years now and have never gone on a vacation. We have two little kids, two and four. We decided this year that it was time to go on a vacation. We decided to go to San Diego and attend Sea World. We just went last week actually. We left early in the morning on August 23rd, 4am. Our kids were extremely sleepy. We arrived in California around 9:30am and began our journey in San Diego. We had never been there before so getting lost was something very possilbe. Luckly I convinced my wife to purchase a GPS a week before. That was a life saver.

We rented a Kia Optima from TravCar and then mostly wondered around just to see the area. Tuesday was not much more than driving and flying. We ate fast food and lounged in our hotel.

Wednesday was a little more eventful. We went on a toured bike ride of Mission Bay. We learned a lot of history about the area. I was surprised to find out that the entire area was build only on sand. After the bike ride we spend the rest of the day on the beach playing in that sand and ocean with our children. It was so nice to be with our kids and have not worries. 
 
Thursday was exciting for my two year old boy, Ryan. He loves horses. We decided to attend a house race in Del Mar. We had never been to one before and did not know what to expect. My boy was so happy when he saw those horses get out of the gates. The excitement was well worth the vacation. I do not think I have ever seen him so happy and excited. Each of us chose a horse to win and then rooted for them.

Friday was a busy day at Sea World. This was our first time to Sea World. We tried our hardest to attend as many shows as possilbe and get a little wet. We saw dolphins, Shamu, and a dog show. Each one was unique in its own way be exciting to watch. Shamu was happy to get us all wet too. Seeing our kids faces light up each time we saw a new animal was well worth the investment to get down there. It will be a vacation remembered, that is for sure.

Saturday was rushing to the airport and then spending four hours on a plane. Home felt so good to be in, expecially our own beds.
