If you're going to San Francisco...
The CityPass enabled us to celebrate our love while cultivating our passion for art and environmental sciences. Our honeymoon began in San Francisco, where we utilized the CityPass to delve into the things we love while utilizing environmentally friendly public transportation to traverse the city. Travelling with the City Pass in combination with our map-equipped phone allowed us to navigate like a local. No fuss with cash or change for bus fare, just show your pass and your on!

First stop, De Young Museum. From the classical to contemporary art, it was a joy to see such magnificent works. It was well worth the additional $15 to go through the Picasso exhibit, which I felt was a once in a lifetime experience. It took a good part of our day to explore the galleries which can work up an appetite. We loved the variety of culinary delights to choose from in the Golden Gate Park area, ranging from fresh baked goods at a co-op bakery to sushi bento boxes. Ultimately, we decided on some scrumptious Greek gyros. Yum!

After lunch we hit up the Academy of Sciences. The exhibits opened doors to the worlds of diverse organisms on land, sea, and air. Walking through the unique tiers of biodiversity in the rainforest was a truly spectacular testament to the fragile diversity of life on earth. The fluttering birds and butterflies created a magnificent delight! The living roof on top of the forest offered an awe-inspiring view of the park and city while surrounded by the cultivation of native plants. The combination of natural environments and cutting edge technology make the Academy of Science a must see in San Francisco.

Our second day of adventuring in San Francisco began with a trip to the MOMA. Walking upon works from Marcel Duchamp, Rothko, and Warhol in the modern art galleries brought a smirk to my face as I questioned “what in fact is art?”. After exploring the MOMA we hopped back on the Muni to head to the wharf and visit the sea lions and explore the Aquarium of the Bay. The glass tunnel at the Aquarium enabled us to dive under water and became a part of the sea world. Leopard sharks, giant sea bass, jellyfish, manta rays, and a plethora of other sea creatures swam above and beside as as we strolled through the tunnel. It was a magical experience to see such majestic creatures up close and personal.

We hopped on the trolley and headed towards our last stop, the Amtrak station. We loved that our CityPass allowed unlimited rides on the trolleys and Muni buses. This experience offered a glimpse into San Francisco’s past and panoramic views of the modern city. As we departed out last stop we left an abundance of good times and memories in the Bay City. Farewell San Francisco!
