New York, I miss you!
As we were only spending 10 days in New York, it was imperative that we soak up as much as we could during this time. The New York city pass was a godsend. Precious time was saved by not having to queue and a great way to save on admission fees. Most of the galleries I wanted to see were in that wonderful little book. The Empire State Building visit was fantastic and we were staying at the Hilton Garden Inn just one street up from this wonderful monument. In fact, our view from our hotel window was the Empire State building. Staying on 35th Street was a brilliant location and we walked 5th Avenue to Central Pk and the 2 major museums. Macy's, Times Square, Penn Street Station and 5th Ave were all close by. Public transport is easy to use and I would recommend using buses down 5th Ave to get to Lower Manhatta n as you get to see a little more. Security lines are now sadly a fact of life. Once you've been through several security checkpoints, you get used to how they operate. Travel light when going to iconic buildings/museums, you get through more easily
