Seattle Transportation Options

King County Metro Transit


KC Metro

Riding King County Metro Transit is FREE in downtown Seattle between 6am and 7pm. The Free Ride Areais bordered by Battery Street to the north, I-5 to the East, Jackson Street to the south and the waterfront on the West. The Seattle Aquarium and Argosy Cruises are both located within the Free Ride Area. The green Waterfront Shuttle is also free.

Metro has a two zone fair structure. Rides outside the Free Ride Area but within the city limits are one zone. If your trip crosses the city limits you will pay a two zone fare.

Zone 1: peak hours $1.50; off-peak $1.25
Zone 2: peak hours $2.00; off-peak $1.25
Peak hours are 6am - 9am and 3pm - 6pm

Metro offers a one day Visitor Pass good for unlimited rides within all zones. Youth and adult riders pay $5.00. A maximum of four children per party, aged 5 and under, ride free with a fare paying adult.

Seattle Center Monorail


Monorail Seattle Center Monorail travels a single route from Westlake Center to Seattle Center about every 10 minutes. The monorail operates Daily 11:00 am to 9:00 pm. Round-trip Monorail fares are $4.00 for Adults, $1.50 for Youth ages 5-12, $2.00 for Seniors 65+. Medicare card holders, disabled persons, and children 4 and under ride free.
