Best place to stay near Disneyland
11:22pm by mikehurren on November 7th, 2011
Hi all, Anyone have any input on the best hotels to stay at near Disneyland park? We have 4 small children, so we're looking for something close to the park, in case we need to go back mid-day for naptime or anything, but not as expensive as the official Disney hotels. Any ideas? Thanks. |

There are tons of places that are around Disneyland. One of the best places is the Grand Californian. You can pull right up to the entrance of a beautifull lobby and then when you are ready to go to the parks, all you have to do is walk out of the back portion of the hotel! It is literally connected to the park! So it is nice at the end of the day when you end up carrying the sleeping children and your feet hurt that you don't have to embark upon a huge quest just to get back to the hotel that is "near" the park. It doesn't get any grander than this. http://disneyland.disney.go.com/grand-californian-hotel/ |

This question depends on whether you want to stay on the resort and if you want to spend the money ($$$) to stay there. If this is the case, any of the 3 hotels are great places to stay. However if you want to stay off the resort, there are many hotels to go to. There are 3 that come to mind. First, Hojo Anaheim is a great place for kids as they have a waterpark called Castaway Cove. The next place is Best Western Pavillion. It is nice on the budget and has a pool. My sister swears by the Camelot Inn and Suites. She said it was nice and close to the resort. I haven't stayed at this one so I can't compare, but I trust what she says. All these hotels are within walking distance provided you know that to walk into the resort it's a walk to get to the trams. However there is the bus that takes you to the resort that is near each of these hotels.
As a side note, remember to take water bottles to refill as you can refill them in quite a few places in the resorts. Better than paying over $3.00 a bottle. There is a Target nearby as well should you need any items you may have forgot. GO to the Anaheim tourist burea as there are tons of info and coupons to save you some money as well.
Have fun!! Stacy |

I agree with the previous post depends on your price range. We have 3 kiddos and we always stay across the street at the Best Western Pavillians. Just walk across the street and you are there. This year we bought the Vacation Club and are staying at the Grand Californian for the first time! |

I would highly recommend the Residence Inn at Garden Grove. It's a little further down south on Katella Street, not more than 5 minutes from Disneyland. They have one bedroom suites that sleep 6 people and it also has a kitchen if you prefer to eat in. They serve a hot breakfast buffet each morning and a light dinner during the week hits which are pretty decent. The rates are great as well if you book early too. We've stayed there two times and will always go back! Have fun! |

The Grand Californian is awesome and well worth the money and such easy access to the parks especially if you have little ones. We would spend the morning in the parks and then go rest and then go back. |
Howard Johnson Plaza

We had 5 children under the age of 7 traveling with us and we stayed at the Howard Johnson plaza and it was a great hotel for the value. They had a huge splashpark, kiddie pool and hot tub after a long day exploring the parks it was nice to relax in the hot tub while the kids played. A short walk to the park. |

Park Vue Inn. It's right across the street from the resort entrance. Some rooms are closer than the Grand Californian Resort that is built against Disney California Adventure. This make it super easy to return to for naps, and to grab sweatshirts for nights in the park.
For large groups it works great because it provides breakfast and a light simpel fare dinner. Plus a welcome basket and cookie, fruit and water in the lobby. This can save on food costs. |

I don't know the best but Disneyland has tons of good neighbor hotels listed. I look at the map and then go to the hotel website to compare prices. The map is on Disneyland site. |

Anaheim Carriage InnI have stayed there numerous times and it's great! Once we took the whole gang and got a 2 bedroom connecting suite. Reasonable prices, the owners live on-site and it's right next to Carl's Jr. Free shuttle to park and free continental breakfast!! |

I love Peacock Suites. They offer a free breakfast and there is a shuttle service for a minimal fee. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. |

There really are many choices around the Disneyland area. We stayed in the Sheraton in Cerritos and it was an amazing hotel. Very nice! |

Check the Lemon Tree Hotel, its about 3miles to Disney. The price is affordable, you can get 1 one bedroom suite with full kitchen. Has a swimmingpool and BBQ if you want to cook. We stay here with 3 adults and 2 kids |

I would suggest staying close to the parks. There are dozens of hotels that you can walk from your room to the gates in 15 minutes or less. That is less time than it take to get from your car in a parking lot to the gates and far less than the average time using a shuttle. |
