Frequently Asked Questions

What is CityPass?

CityPass is a popular, pocket-size ticket booklet that contains an actual admission ticket to five or six of the most popular – and famous – attractions in New York, Atlanta, Houston, Philadelphia, Boston, Toronto, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, or Hollywood. You save time and money when you purchase CityPass. It costs about half the price of regular admissions, and allows you to skip most entrance lines. You’ll have nine days from day of first use to enjoy all the tickets.
Southern California CityPass offers substantially discounted admission to California’s best theme parks, and 14 consecutive days to get in all the thrills – and sample more of Southern California’s fabulous experiences.

Where do I buy CityPass?

You have convenient choices, and the CityPass booklet price is always the same. Order online and have tickets delivered to your door via UPS. Order online and save shipping fees by purchasing a print-at-home voucher* which can be exchanged for a CityPass booklet at any of each city’s participating attractions. Or, all of the attractions included in the program sell the CityPass for their city at their main ticket windows.
*Print-at-home vouchers are not currently available for Southern California CityPass.

What is included in my attraction admission?

CityPass booklets are available for 11 destinations and each includes general admission to each of that city’s participating attractions. CityPass admission may also include something extra, such as an IMAX show. The back of every ticket describes what to expect at that particular CityPass attraction. And you can always check exactly what’s included for each CityPass city – and peek inside every single CityPass booklet – at citypass.com.

Does using CityPass mean I never wait in lines?

You’ll be happy to know you’ll avoid most long lines of people waiting to buy their tickets. Many attractions display the CityPass logo at a membership desk or separate entrance, giving CityPass ticket holders immediate admission. Look at the bottom left corner of each ticket to learn where to take your CityPass. Common sense and simple courtesy are good to have if there are other CityPass ticket holders in front of you at an attraction, or if there are other procedures. Cruises, for example, have boarding protocols. At the Empire State Building, you’ll breeze past the main ticket lines, then wait with everyone else to step into an elevator for the ride to the observatory level. Some museums and theme parks have a single gate, but streamline their process so any delay is relatively painless. Keep your sunny side up on the rare occasions you may have to wait a bit.

How can I tell if CityPass is a good deal for me?

Only CityPass provides a pricing comparison grid for each of our 11 destinations that shows you exactly how our prices compare with full admission prices. You can tell at a glance if you will still save money in the event you do not visit all attractions. We give you all the information – including the extras, such as IMAX theater admission -- to let you decide its value to you. Click on the price in red displayed on each city page of citypass.com to open the pricing comparison grid.

Do I need to purchase CityPass in advance of my trip?

CityPass is so easy to purchase that you can make up your mind now and buy online, or you can purchase a CityPass at the main ticket windows of any of the attractions included in each CityPass program.

How do I buy a CityPass if I live outside the U.S. or Canada?

CityPass booklets purchased in advance of your trip can be ordered online to be sent to a home, office or hotel address in the U.S. and Canada. Within the United Kingdom, CityPass booklets may be sent to a home or office address or use the print-at-home E-ticket option.
All other international visitors will find it simple to purchase CityPass booklets at the first participating attraction in the city they visit or use the print-at-home E-ticket option.

Can I avoid shipping charges?

To avoid shipping charges, you can purchase on citypass.com and use the print-at-home E-ticket option. Or purchase your CityPass at the first participating attraction you decide to visit. All of the attractions in the program sell the CityPass at their main ticket windows for the same prices available on citypass.com.

Will you ship CityPass booklets to my hotel?

Sure! When you purchase CityPass booklets online at citypass.com in advance of your travel, your CityPass order can be shipped to an office, home or a hotel address in the United States or Canada. If you have CityPass sent to a hotel, we recommend calling the hotel to confirm your reservation, and let them know you’re expecting a package.

How long will CityPass delivery take? Can I track it?

When placing your order online at citypass.com, you'll choose from a range of UPS shipping methods. An expected date of arrival is provided for each shipping method.
By the end of the business day that your order is picked up by UPS, you will receive an email from UPS with a tracking number. In the event you do not hear from UPS, contact info@citypass.com, or call (888) 330-5008.

Why does someone need to sign for my CityPass delivery?

CityPass booklets are just like cash. We need to verify that you – or someone at the address you specified – accepted delivery. Many of our customers prefer to use a business address, where a trusted colleague is available to accept delivery.

Are special exhibits or exhibitions included in my CityPass admission?

It varies. Read the attraction information on the CityPass ticket, or contact the attraction directly to verify fees to upgrade or purchase admission to a special or temporary exhibit.

What if want to substitute or subtract an attraction?

The beauty of each CityPass booklet is that you are purchasing a collection of carefully selected attraction tickets, designed to appeal to an inquisitive traveler. Those who have more narrowly defined interests may want to map their own attraction list, and use CityPass on another occasion. Keep in mind that you may still save money using CityPass even if you are unable to use all the tickets included.

Can I get my money back if I don’t use every ticket?

Once “activated” (used to visit an attraction), CityPass booklets are not eligible for refunds. In extraordinary circumstances, returns are considered when requested in writing, by email, to returns@citypass.com. Include an explanation, where your CityPass was purchased, and the barcode number on the back of the booklet.
If the booklet has not been activated (no tickets have been used), contact the business from which you purchased CityPass for a refund.

What if my CityPass is lost or stolen?

Think of a CityPass booklet like cash in your pocket. Because there is no name or personal identification on a CityPass booklet, if your booklet is lost or stolen, no refund or replacement is available.

What about discounts? Senior citizen? Student? Military? Group?

CityPass saves nearly half the price of regular admission prices, offering significant savings to all ages. In fact, CityPass booklets are more attractively priced than AARP or other comparable discounts for admission at our collection of attractions. Further discounts are not available.
