CityPASS Hollywood experience
LA is not only Disneyland or Universal Studios, me & my husband did something different.
Stay: Comfort Inn (Woodland Hills),good breakfast. Dislike-small bathrooms, far from Hollywood blvd (traffic slows you down miserably) One has to know LA’s history to appreciate what it’s today, CityPASS does that spot-on! Day 1:Beverly Hills bus tour (disappointing: cannot “see” much of the mansions, only rooftops.) Madame Tussaud's (makes you a celebrity, pose & click) Day 2:Behind The Scenes tour (deep insight into Hollywood’s birth by guide, buildings’ significance, old pictures!) Museum’s boring (unless you know yesteryear stars, don’t miss the spooky room exhibits!) Summary:a lot of walking-standing (adequate sun protection, water) Lunch: McDonald's(crowded, 15 mins to bathroom , 15 to order); Dinner: "India's Tandoori” (1 mile from hotel): generous portions, tasty curries! Parking: super-easy, Full-day ($10)/ hourly parking (easily validated by the tour guide for you!). Commendable: Muhammad Ali’s star, put up on the wall to stop the Holy name of the of the Muslim prophet being stepped upon…Hollywood’s not about glitter & glitz, here's a big lesson in tolerance. @night: Griffith Observatory: breathtaking city view ; Santa Monica pier: spectacular (parking is a exorbitant $12) Best part:sharing the experience with dad in India! ![]() The most photographed sign in the world ![]() Imprints of the creator himself (Grauman's Chinese Theatre)
