No Doubt, Mariah Carey to Kick Off NFL Season

Football fans and music fans alike can delight in the NFL’s pre-game performances by Mariah Carey and No Doubt that kick off this year’s football season on September 5.

The Grammy award-winning artists are set to perform in NYC at Rockefeller Center just before the season opener between the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The hour-long celebration will air at 7:30 P.M. EST on NBC, and the live musical performances take place on a specially-constructed stage above Rockefeller Center’s iconic statue of Prometheus.

This is the 10th anniversary of NFL Kickoff continuing the tradition of saluting the Super Bowl champions with the opening game in their stadium in primetime.

Mariah Carey, who leads all solo artists with an unprecedented 18 #1 Hot 100 singles, recently released her new single “Triumphant (Get ’Em).” No Doubt’s new album "Push And Shove" will be released September 25 and their chart-topping single "Settle Down' is out now.

No Doubt and Mimi join Cee Lo Green, who is penning a 2012 NFL tribute to the tune of ‘Blitzkrieg Pop’ called ‘I Love Football.’ Green’s track will be the official intro for Thursday Night Football.

Another diva getting in on some touchdown action? Kelly Clarkson, who wrote and recorded a song in honor of her own home team, the Dallas Cowboys. Clarkson’s partnership with Pepsi granted fans a free adrenaline-pumping track called ‘Get Up (A Cowboys Anthem).’

The Rockefeller Center show is the third Kickoff set at an iconic New York City landmark, following shows live from Times Square (2002) and Columbus Circle (2008).
