One in five 2009 marriage proposals will be made in December. That’s a lot of romance, and lot of nail biting, whether you’re popping the question or ready to answer.
Big cities have spectacular drop-to-one-knee-and-flash-the-ring spots:
- New York – Top of the Empire State Building at midnight
- Chicago – glass booth of Skydeck Chicago, suspended 103 stories above the pavement
- San Francisco – aboard a cable car, or atop the de Young Museum’s tower
- Seattle – revolving restaurant of Space Needle
- In every city – admiring holiday windows, with hot chocolate in mittened hands
