Follow Toronto's PATH to a Land of Endless Shopping

When the weather outside is frightful, it’s delightful to find a way to get out of the house without spending much time out of doors. Enclosed shopping malls are one option, but can be limiting. Luckily, residents of — and visitors to — Toronto have a BIG additional option: Toronto PATH. If your travel plans take you to the City by the Bay this Valentine’s Day, indulge yourself and your sweetie with a modern take on this 2,000-year-old treat. The Latin name for the cacao plant translates to the “food of the gods,” a fitting designation for such an ethereal flavor. Chocolate earned its place as a symbol of romance after Hernán Cortés brought it back to Spain following his conquest of the Aztec Empire, and with its reputation as an aphrodisiac, it remains one of the most popular Valentine’s Day gifts. read more »

Modern, Vintage, Trendy: New York's Shopping Gems

We just love our department stores. Some of them have been around for so long that they are like part of our extended family. There is some comfort in knowing exactly the kind of service and quality you are going to get by shopping at your favorite department store. Then there is the issue of convenience, as I can find everything I might be looking for in just one place. And the variety is simply formidable. read more »
