Quick Dip Tour

Georgia Aquarium’s Quick Dip Tour – included in CityPASS admission – is a 20-minute glimpse of aquarium highlights. The River Scout area zooms in on freshwater river life from under the water, then takes you to the view from the top.

Ocean Voyager, the world’s largest exhibit, contains the world’s largest fish – the whale shark. You’ll be standing above the awesome fellow.

This tour is available to age five and older.

Coldwater Quest

Cold ocean waters teem with fish and marine mammals. Beneath the waves, curious animals such as Australian weedy sea dragons, garibaldi damselfish and Japanese spider crabs hang among rocky ledges and kelp forests. Glimpse the rich variety of life found in cold ocean waters.

Georgia Aquarium’s playful penguins are back in a brand new habitat, the Georgia-Pacific Penguin Plunge, featured in the atrium. In 2010, Georgia Aquarium will introduce you to another amazing animal - dolphins.

Ocean Voyager

Ocean Voyager is home to the gentle giants of the sea, including whale sharks and the only manta rays in a U.S. aquarium. You’ll get views and angles only seen by scuba divers when you explore an endless blue sea, thousands of fish swimming over your oh-so-sturdy acrylic tunnel ceiling. Here are the facts:

• 100-foot-long underwater tunnel
• 185 tons of acrylic windows
• Second-largest viewing window in the world: 23 feet tall, 61 feet wide, 2 feet thick
• 4,574 square feet of viewing windows
• 6 million gallons of saltwater

River Scout — Freshwater Mysteries

Discover the wide diversity of animals found in the rivers of Africa, South America, Asia and in Georgia waters. See these animals, and more, in a themed environment of waterfalls, logjams and a simulated meandering North American river that flows over your head. Here are a few of the animals you may spot:

• Emerald tree boa
• American Alligators
• Red-eared sliders and yellowbelly sliders
• Electric fish of Africa and South America
• Piranha
• Asian small-clawed otter

Georgia Explorer — Hands on Discovery

The Georgia Explorer gallery is a highly interactive gallery with touch pools full of horseshoe crabs, sea stars, stingrays and shrimp.

Several large habitats feature a loggerhead sea turtle and the fish of Gray’s Reef – an underwater area off the Georgia coast designated a National Marine Sanctuary.

Connect with right whales, which are one of the most endangered mammals on the planet.

Venomous lionfish from the Pacific Ocean, alien invaders to the Georgia coast, are part of a brand hew exhibit. These fish don’t belong here, and they are changing our ocean ecosystem.

Tropical Diver — The Coral Kingdom

The relaxing exhibits of Tropical Diver are appropriately arranged like a gallery of living art. Encounter curious garden eels popping up out of the sand and above them a swirling mass of thousands of tiny glassy sweepers. Children will “find Nemo” as well as seahorses, fairy basslets, yellow-head jawfish and other jewels of the sea.

Further along, three impressive exhibits of jellies will mesmerize you. At the center of this gallery is one of the largest living reef exhibits of any aquarium in the world. Living corals and thousands of colorful reef fish are presented in a faithful recreation of a tropical Pacific coral reef, complete with an overhead crashing wave.

Kids Corner
